BMK Bonsai is a private bonsai facility located in Forest Lake, Minnesota. Established in 1990, BMK is a state-of-the-art, full-service bonsai facility provisioned to cultivate and house bonsai year round for the most astute bonsai collectors.

Have personally visited and acquired inventory from bonsai nurseries in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Oregon, Washington, California, Texas, and most Midwest states for 30 years.

Sold bonsai trees at the Minnesota State Fair, County fairs, and weekend festivals for over two decades.

Have wintered and taken care of deciduous, coniferous, sub-tropical, and tropical bonsai tree species for clients for 30 years.

Bonsai cultivation
BMK cultivates bonsai trees for collectors in an environment conducive to growing all types of trees regardless of climatic limitations.
2. Winter storage
Since 1990, BMK Bonsai has dedicated decades to cultivating and storing bonsai and providing bonsai artists and collectors a facility to house and winter master trees. Winter is the most challenging time for growing bonsai in cold climates. Cold hardy bonsai are kept from freezing in BMK's temperature-controlled facilities, allowing them the dormancy they need for optimal health.
Tropical/Indoor bonsai spend the cold months in a specially heated greenhouse, where they receive the right amounts of light, air circulation, and well water to thrive.
3. Repotting, wiring, and pruning
BMK services include fertilizing, insect and disease control, maintenance pruning, and repotting as needed.
